"Petrozavodsky Universitet" ("PU") newspaper has been published since
1956. "PU" is a weekly four-page paper (one printer's sheet, A3 size) with
800 copies circulation.

"PU" provides information about scientific,
social, international and student life of the Petrozavodsk State University
as well as important problematic and analytical articles.
The staff of the newspaper includes an editor, a journalist and
a computer operator. The authors are mostly students, instructors
and officials of PetrSU. The newspaper is entirely under the auspices of
PetrSU.
Before November, 1994 the newspaper had been published in
the Petrozavodsk printing house, but now it is published by the joint efforts
of the university computer center and the university press.
In March, 1995 there appeared the first pilot colored issue of a joint
newspaper of students of PetrSU and the university of Joensuu (Finland).
