PetrSU Held a “Stop HIV/AIDS” Event
Petrozavodsk State University hosted events in the framework of the All-Russian campaign “Stop HIV/AIDS”.
Schoolchildren of the School No. 36 of Petrozavodsk and students of our university attended the All-Russian open class “Day of Joint Action on Raising HIV/AIDS Awareness among Children and Youth “KNOWLEDGE-RESPONSIBILITY-HEALTH” organized by the Museum of History of PetrSU. The young people were shown a video about the diseases and prevention practices
Afterwards everyone present – schoolchildren, students and the university employees – discussed the problems related to such diseases as HIV and AIDS: what causes the infection, how to support people who suffer from the disease, and youth’s attitude to the problem.
This event was aimed at joining the forces of the state authorities and public organizations in order to draw attention to the spreading of the disease in Russia, inform people on the basic preventive measures and contemporary diagnostic methods.
The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of Russia, Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), Federal Service for Consumer Rights and Human Welfare Protection (Rospotrebnadzor), the Rectors’ Union of Russia, leading state universities of Russia and Russian Orthodox Church.
