Peace Problems were Discussed at PetrSU
Petrozavodsk State University hosted winter school “Peace Projects at Different Levels of Government and Civil Society in the North of Europe”.
The participants of the school were students and teachers from Russia, Norway, Nepal, Montenegro, and other countries.
The school was organized within the framework of the university cooperation under the project “Barents Peace Education Network”, aimed at integration of the regions of Karelia, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk and Tromso in the field of research, higher and school education, as well as practical conflict resolution.
The program of the school was diverse and included lectures, seminars and workshop. All the events were held in the English language.
“These events are amazing opportunities for student, teachers and researchers from different countries to gather together and discuss what “peace” is in the modern world, and find tools to achieve it. The fact that this event has been held at our university before, indicates that PetrSU is an active participant of the project “Barents Peace Education Network”, which is a good practice of interaction in the North of Europe,” noted the Vice-rector for International Affairs of PetrSU Marina Gvozdeva.
