Computing Сurricula 2020
Olga Bogoyavlenskaya, the Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics and Mathematical Support of the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies of PetrSU, took part in the regular virtual seminar of the international working group on the development of the Computing Сurricula 2020 (CC2020), the integrated guidance on planning practice-oriented curricula for IT specialties.
Scientists and university lecturers from the USA, Japan, China, Australia, Sweden, the Netherlands, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, South Africa, etc. take part in the work of the group.
The group is developing a guidance integrated into four directions: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering and Information Systems. The work of the group is supported by the IEEE and ACM organizations. The developed guidance will replace the similar document of 2005 and should promote the training of qualified personnel for the development of the industry until 2035.
Olga Bogoyavlenskaya is a member of the Competence-Curricula Group, which held a separate seminar on the 11th of January. The participants of the seminar, which took place on January 23, were in 11 time zones. The head of the international working group is Professor John Impagliazzo (USA), Life Fellow of IEEE, distinguished educator of ACM. From 2010 to 2015 he has been the editor-in-chief of the journal asm Inroads, dedicated to the teaching of Computer Science.
