The Institute of Mathematics and IT trains specialists in mathematics, computer science, information technologies, robotics, and teaching (mathematics and computer science).

In 2018 we offer prospective students the following Bachelor Degree programs:
· 01.03.01 Mathematics (intramural);
· 44.03.05 Teaching Education. Mathematics and Computer Science (intramural);
· 01.03.02 Applied Mathematics and Computer Science (intramural);
· 09.03.02 Information Systems and Technologies (intra- and extramural);
· 09.03.04 Software Engineering (intramural).
Each of these programs is unique and combines quality academic knowledge with skills that allow putting it into practice.
Since 2017 the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies have been training students on the Software Engineering program. The program offers education in the area of industrial software development for various systems. It follows the global trend and reflects the evolution of programming from a skill to science and industry. The students of the program learn to take systematic, orderly, quantifiable approach to development, operation, and support of a wide range of software and systems on the basis of modern engineering methods.
Alongside courses included in the curricula, as well as elective courses, the students of our Institute can attend additional courses, for instance, on innovational entrepreneurship and business management, or study for an international certification exam in the English language.
The students are engaged in research projects, work at the units of the IT-Park of PetrSU, undergo training courses at European universities, present their developments at world-class conferences and publish their research results in leading journals.
