The Linguistic Center Finished the Autumn Semester
Students from the United Kingdom, Norway, China, Austria, Germany, and other countries have completed their studies at the Linguistic Center on various additional educational programs.
Alongside general programs, this semester the Linguistic Center has developed and implemented new ones. Thus, 10 students from the University of Oslo studied on a special program that included the Russian language classes, regional studies, preparation and taking the test in Russian as a foreign language (TORFL-1). The test included the official tester of the Core Center of Testing of Saint Petersburg State University Nadezhda Dubinina, who praised the knowledge of the Norwegian students.
A student from Austria Antonia Maria Spannagl studied at the Linguistic Center and held several classes of the German language at the Institute of Foreign Languages of PetrSU and received great feedback from the students and the Director of the IFL Inna Kreneva.
A student from the Netherlands Roosmarijn ten Hoopen presented the citizens of Petrozavodsk her art installation. Rosmarijn’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/roosmarijntenhoopen/
A student from the United Kingdom Kathryn Watt Hediye, frequent blogger, wrote several posts about Karelia, Petrozavodsk, Kizhi, and Kivach, shared her impressions on living in Russia. Her blog: https://pilgrimkat.com/
The teachers and employees of the Linguistic Center vastly enjoyed working and spending time with such open-minded and gifted young people who have brought so many new and interesting ideas to our city and the university.
The students also took part in youth events, attended sports clubs, for instance, Thai boxing, and of course saw the sights of Karelia, Moscow, and Saint Petersburg.
The team of the Linguistic Center congratulates its international students on the Christmas and the New Year! We are looking forward to meeting everyone in summer 2019!
