Holidays Are Coming or Secret Santa
Secret Santa was the title of the Russian language class for the international students of the Preparatory Faculty.
Many of the students celebrate their first New Year away from home. Everyone was eager to learn the traditions of celebrating in Russia and Karelia. The students of the Preparatory Faculty were introduced to Ded Moroz and Snegurochka, Pakkaine and Talvi Ukko. Each student prepared a presentation in the Russian language about New Year celebrations in Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Vietnam, China, and Zimbabwe. In different languages of the world, the foreigners wrote “Happy New Year” on the blackboard.
The students competed in a linguistic contest, cut paper snowflakes. At the end of the class, the international students played the Secret Santa game and presented each other gifts. The head of the Preparatory Faculty Elena Titova wished the students a happy New Year and success in studying the Russian language.
