Studying Finnish Experience of Developing Youth Entrepreneurshi
A mixed team of PetrSU specialists representing the Karelian Regional Institute of Continuing Professional Education, the Department of Tourism of the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Youth Innopark undertook an internship in the city of Oulu (Finland).
During the visit to Oulu, the delegates from PetrSU studied the experience of their Finnish colleagues in developing youth entrepreneurship, visited facilities offering business support, studied the best practices of supporting start-ups in the area of creative industries, consulted with the best experts, business-angels, and mentors who support startuppers.
At the discussions with the Finnish colleagues, the specialists from Karelia gained specific advice and solutions to the problems and situations and this will allow them to efficiently introduce the gained knowledge and skills, approaches and models to their work on the development and generation of entrepreneurial initiative of students, support of promising start-ups on the premises of the Flagship University.
In between the training and working sessions, the interns visited the finals of PolarBearPitching, one of the most original know-how invented in Oulu and used for “efficient” presentation of start-ups of their business idea to investors.
Alongside the internship events, the delegates from PetrSU visited the University of Oulu and Oulu University of Applied Sciences, where they held meetings on the implementation of the projects KA3004 and KA4022. Negotiations with the Finnish colleagues gave a new impetus to the implementation of joint projects in the area of training and skill upgrading of specialists engaged in the field of creative industries, cultural tourism, and entrepreneurship.
The internship was organized in the framework of the projects KA3004 Cultural Training and Activation Initiative (CULTA) and KA4022 Business for Youngsters (BUSY) supported by the Karelia CBC Program.
