International Students at the Lecture on Migration and Labour Laws of Russia
Petrozavodsk State University hosted the annual meeting of the international students of the university with representatives of the Directorate for Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karelia. The meeting also featured students of the Petrozavodsk Glazunov State Conservatory.
These meetings are held several times a year and cover the most significant issues for international students.
In view of the upcoming holidays and summer vacation, the inspector of the Directorate for Migration Affairs of the Regional Office of the MIA of Russia in Petrozavodsk Maria Kuleshova reminded the participants of the meeting about complying with the rules of stay in Russia and timely registering in the migration.
The Deputy Director of the Department of Migration Control Major of the Police Mikhail Mikheev told about employment and documents required for working in Russia.
Information about the most frequent administrative violations and penalties was provided by the senior of the Department Irena Stankevich.
The Head of the Academic Mobility Department of PetrSU Natalia Karakina noted: “Undoubtedly these meetings are essential. When international prospective students enroll in PetrSU the employees of the international office introduce them to the laws of Russia. But it is at these meetings that the students learn all the intricacies and get answers directly from the representatives of the migration services.
