“By the unanimous decision of the Ministers <…> the date of February 9 is announced the International Day of the Greek Language. This means a significant decision and important date for all Greeks wherever they are, including Greeks living abroad, in the Russian Federation and Saint Petersburg.

On this occasion I would like to once again express my gratitude to the Professor of the Department of Classical Philology, Russian Literature and Journalism of Petrozavodsk State University Tatiana Malchukova, as well as to teachers, students, and postgraduates for their tireless and inspiring efforts they make in studying and popularizing the Greek language, history and Greek culture. As the Consul General of Greece I wholeheartedly thank you for your love for our homeland and our language,” says the message.
