Graduates of the Institute of Foreign Languages Received Bachelor Degree Diplomas
The Institute of Foreign Languages of PetrSU held a ceremony of awarding diplomas to Bachelor Degree students. Students of the programs “English and German Languages”, “English and French Languages”, “German and English Languages” received 50 diplomas, 11 of them with honors.
Over the years, the Institute of Foreign Languages has trained highly-qualified specialists in teaching foreign languages. Graduates of 2019 kept the standards high with their excellent theses defense and high grades at the state examination in the specialization. Moreover, many graduates have successfully represented Petrozavodsk State University in various programs and contests held by the Goethe-Institut, French Institute in Russia. Most graduates of 2019 have taken part in the international language and culture camps held by the Institute in cooperation with the College of St. Scholastica (Duluth, USA) and Lyceum Jean Dautet (La Rochelle, France), in the projects Mini-refendariat and Sprint (Lubeck, Germany) and other international projects.
At the award ceremony, the Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages Inna Kreneva addressed the graduates and congratulated them on the successful completion of a serious stage in their life. The Director thanked them for their initiative and creative approach to implementation of the Institute’s projects and awarded letters of gratitude to the most proactive students.
While awarding the diplomas the Vice-Rector for International Affairs of PetrSU Marina Gvozdeva highlighted that the 2019 IFL graduates are well-rounded and can be proud of their achievements in studies and science, creativity and international activities. She wished the graduates to be self-confident and persistent in the constantly changing world.
The diploma award ceremony at the IFL became a true celebration. The graduates have prepared a concert in which they remembered all their 5 years of studies and written poems to express their heartfelt gratitude to each teacher.
The teachers of the Department of the English Language and the Department of the German and French Languages addressed the graduates and their families with warmest wishes. They wished the graduate to find their path in personal and professional life, and retain through the years the binding thread which is the fascination with foreign languages.
On this day the assembly hall was packed as friends and families of the graduates came to share this solemn and momentous event. The graduates’ parents too warmly thanked the teachers and employees of the Institute of Foreign Languages for faith and support, solid knowledge taught at the Institute.
