Student from PetrSU Participates in International BRICS School
This year's discussions focused on the role of BRICS in the changing world, sustainable development, new technologies and the challenges presented by them. The participants attended lectures by leading Russian and foreign experts on BRICS-related topics, workshops, business games, and debates.
Traditionally, the BRICS International School 2024 is a focal point for people of various ethnicities and nationalities which provides a platform for dialogue and mutual understanding. The educational program enabled the participants to enhance their communication skills, broaden professional horizons, and study the peculiarities of interactions between BRICS countries and their partners in every detail.
The featured guests represented the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, BRICS member countries, Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), various research institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Skolkovo Innovation Center and analytical centers working with BRICS countries.
The key event of the School was the meeting with Sergey Ryabkov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, a proxy for the Russian Federation in BRICS.
During the event, the participants worked on group projects devoted to the development of artificial intelligence. Yegor Yurusov comments: 'My contribution to this project involved the systematization of international legal documents related to the ethical aspects of artificial intelligence use in the modern world. Despite the busy timetable, in between lectures and practical classes I managed to get to know many people from different continents and establish warm and friendly relationships with them.'
Undertaken in partnership with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the 'BRICS School' project is part of 'Priority 2030' state program supporting Russian universities. Petrozavodsk State University is one of the participants of the program.
