Volunteers of the Donor Movement of PetrSU invited students and citizens of Petrozavodsk to celebrate Russian Students Day at the blood donor center.

During their time at the university students pass a great number of exams and tests, yet only a few of them pass the “donor exam”. You will not get an “F” for wrong answers, still everyone should take a moment to ponder the examination questions: “Donor has a proud sound”, “Why do I donate blood?”, “Image of a blood donor”, “Contraindication to blood donation: absolute and temporary”.

One shouldn’t be afraid to give a wrong answer, let alone donate blood. Doctors and volunteers maintained friendly atmosphere and gave presents. A special present awaited the only Tatiana who came to the blood donor center on her name day. Altogether 60 people took part in the event organized by the Donor Movement of PetrSU, of them 48 were permitted to donate their blood.

“In winter we see a drop in the donor numbers. It is due to the weather conditions and frequent cold-related diseases. Long New Year holiday plays its part in it too. As 2017 sets in, we remind everyone of the importance of blood donation. Tatiana’s Day provided us with the opportunity to congratulate students and hold the event in festive atmosphere,” noted the Head of the Movement Elena Kotacheva, the 5th year student of the Institute of Medicine of PetrSU.

Donor Days and topical events are regularly held by the volunteers of PetrSU. Donor Day on Bicycle (February, 3) and Donor Day dedicated to all those in love (February, 14) are underway. More information (in Russian).
