Prospects of Cross-Border Cooperation Discussed at PetrSU
The Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of PetrSU hosted the international seminar “Prospects of the Development of Cross-Border Institutions (IPCST and ISLO).
Among the participants of the seminar were the Director of the Eastern Finland Sports Institute (ISLO) Vesa Martikkala, the Vice Director of ISLO Martti Riekki, research fellow of ISLO Aleksandr Osipov, the Vice Director of the IPCST, the Head of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education Larisa Kieleviainen, the Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism of PetrSU Nikolay Kolesnikov, the acting head of the Department of Life Safety of PetrSU Liubov Blazhevich, the Head of the Exchange Programs Division of the Academic Mobility Department of PetrSU Natalia Silina, the Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism of PetrSU Vladimir Shevchenko.
At the seminar, the partners discussed the results of the joint microproject Physical Training Environment for Healthier Life. The project studied the awareness of city sports and wellness services in Petrozavodsk and Joensuu, evaluated the accessibility of sports infrastructure for target groups, and established an information platform for promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
The seminar also included discussions of the continuation of project activities, exchange of opinions and proposals, as well as the organization of the joint international conference “Quality of Life: Modern Challenges and Growth Vectors”.
The partners made decisions on joint activities in student mobility, skill upgrading programs, joint projects, and research.
