Ensemble "Karelian Souvenir" – Prize-Winner of the" Le Ciel de Paris Competition"
"Karelian Souvenir", the folk dance ensemble of Petrozavodsk State University, became the prize-winner of the 1st International music and arts virtual competitive festival Le Ciel de Paris.
The 1st International correspondence competition Le Ciel de Paris is a unique global project. Artists from six countries of the world participated in it. The mission of the project is to bring together rising stars and experienced performers on the online scene, providing an opportunity for creative communication and professional growth across geographical borders.
The expert board of the project consists of specialists from the European Union. The jury is comprised of French, Dutch, Czech, Italian, and Spanish representatives.
The Karelian Souvenir submitted 3 performances to the jury:
Karelian dance "Boys from another village"
"Zaonezhsky circular dance"
Finnish dance "Povorotiki" [Turns].
According to the results of the competition, the collective has been awarded the titles of prize-winners of the I and II degrees in the nomination "Folk Dance" and the title of prize-winner of the II degree in the nomination "Folk-stylized dance".
Each dance has been reviewed by the panel of experts, who noted the high level of performing skills, rotation technique, artistry, and beautiful authentic costumes.
All winners of the I degree and Grand Prix titles have been nominated for the prestigious Start of the Star International Award in the field of culture and arts, which will be held in St. Petersburg on February 25-28, 2021.
