The Final Sixth Session of the BRIDGE International Project
On November 24, in the framework of the international project ENI KO1013 "Bridge - Barents Region Initiative for Developing Growth and Employability", ITMO University, Saint Petersburg, hosted the 6th session of the BRIDGE project where the participants presented the solutions to 8 business-cases for 7 St. Petersburg digital-economy companies.
The final presentations of the 6th session of the BRIDGE international educational project, which is a part of the CBC Kolarctic 2014-2020, took place on November 24. The online-conference gathered together the representatives from 5 partner universities: UiT the Arctic University of Norway (Lead Partner), Lapland University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Murmansk Arctic State University, and ITMO University (St. Petersburg) and Petrozavodsk State University.
The finals were attended by 38 people, including 18 foreign participants and heads and managers of St. Petersburg companies. PetrSU team consisted of 4 students: Andrey Chuvak (the 2nd year Master’s Degree student of the Economics and Finance program of the Institute of Economics and Law), Ekaterina Moseeva (the 4th year Bachelor’s Degree student of the Tourism program of the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism), Ilya Tkachuk (the 3rd year Bachelor’s Degree student of the Management program of the Institute of Economics and Law), Pavel Stafeev (the 3rd year Bachelor’s Degree students of the Economics program of the Institute of Economics and Law) under the guidance of Oksana Prokhorova, the Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Theory and Management of the Institute of Economics and Law.
In total, 8 cases from 7 St. Petersburg companies were considered during the project: Arcadia, Geoscan Group, Digital Design, Trip for students, Teachingame, Cofium, KORA. All of them were interested in digital solutions and development in international markets.
The winner of the BRIDGE 6th session was the Teachingame 1 team, which proposed prototypes of two educational interactive games for students and schoolchildren, while the 2nd place went to the Trip for students team (creation of tours for international students) with the participation of our student Ekaterina Moseeva and the 3rd the place was shared by the teams Cofuim 1 and GeoScan (promotion of the drone show) with the participation of the PetrSU master student of Andrey Chuvak.
“This is the first time I participate in events of this kind. And I think this experience was very successful. It is a pleasure to work in an international team, where all the guys are highly motivated to achieve the best result. The experience of communicating and working together with people from other countries is also useful.
I am happy that I joined the team with the Arcadia case. Although it was, I suppose, the most difficult of the presented topics, I worked in a field that is interesting to me. It was a very productive month, the work on the case required a lot of free time. If I have an opportunity the next time, I will definitely take part in BRIDGE-2022.
Alas, there is so little time for the final presentation. It is very inconvenient to tell important material while in a hurry. But I’m sure that our team was able to demonstrate fully all the work we have done. My teammates were responsible, no one got out of the process. All in all, this is a cool experience,”
- believed Ilya Tkachuk, the member of the Arcadia team.
Pavel Stafeev, a member of the Digital Design team, also expressed his opinion about participation in BRIDGE:
“Thank you very much again for the opportunity to participate in such a significant and interesting project as BRIDGE.
My teammates and I had a great experience. Each of us has improved our skills in teamwork, communication, the English language, the ability to set up goals and achieve them.
I recommend all students who want to learn how to achieve their goals to participate in the BRIDGE project in the coming years.”
Ekaterina Moseeva, the 4th year Bachelor’s Degree student of the Tourism program of the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism:
“My second season of the BRIDGE project was special, since this time I really worked in an international team.
My teammates were students from Russia, Germany, France, who are getting their education in Finland, Norway and Russia. I think, this is what helped us to present the work results on the case of the St. Petersburg company "Trip for students" decently and to take the 2nd place in the final.
Our task was to develop a strategy for promoting "Trip for students" in the tourist market of the Scandinavian and Baltic countries.”
Based on the results of Sixth Session of the BRIDGE project 2019-2021, PetrSU students took the 3rd place once, were second twice and won four times, which undoubtedly indicates their high level of both professional training and soft skills.
The Kolarctic experts decided to extend the Bridge project until the end of June 2022. The next 7 months of the project will be devoted to the publication of a collective monograph from the BRIDGE coaches and administrative staff, as well as to the dissemination of the project results among interested universities, scientific organizations and municipalities.
