Participation in Сertification Seminar from the Beck Institute (USA)
The Beck Institute (USA) conducted a seminar on cognitive behavioral therapy of depressive and anxiety disorders.
Iurii Melnik, Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology, the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, the Director of the Center for Mental Health and Emotional Well-Being, took part in Allen R. Miller's five-day seminar on cognitive behavioral therapy of depressive and anxiety disorders (the Beck Institute, USA). The seminar was organized by the Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapy (Saint Petersburg).
The seminar topics included methods and treatments for depression and the entire spectrum of anxiety disorders.
Allen Miller introduced the effective use of behavioral techniques, including behavioral activation, and the development of action plans for the depression treatment.
He has also presented widely used methods for treating anxiety disorders, including cognitive methods for assessing and restructuring catastrophic misinterpretations and other beliefs, mindfulness and relaxation techniques for managing anxiety, building hierarchies and methods of managing anxiety.
