PetrSU Postgraduate Student from China Defended a PhD Thesis
The topic of the dissertation is "Formation of speaking skills in Chinese students of non-linguistic specialties based on an integrated approach (level A1-A2)", supervisor - Elena Borzova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the English Language Department at PetrSU.
Many questions were asked, Linlin answered all of them very well and convincingly. Leading organization (MAU, Murmansk), opponents I.I. Prosvirkina (PhD, RUDN, Moscow) and O.V. Antsiferova (Associate Professor, St. Petersburg State University) gave positive feedback on the dissertation.
As a result of the discussion, a unanimous decision was made to award Zhao Linlin the academic degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences.
Elena Borzova, PhD, Professor of the English Language Department at PetrSU, shares her impressions:
“I am very happy for Linlin. She really worked hard and long. She studied a huge amount of literature on psycholinguistics, methodology, and psychology in the original, managed to conduct a high-quality experiment, write a voluminous, high-quality dissertation text, publish 11 articles, and spoke at various conferences on numerous occasions. She analyzed the problem very meticulously and deeply.
At the same time, she taught Chinese language classes for students, attended lectures on methodology, and completed a postgraduate program. I am delighted with how she did everything and did it perfectly! I would like to wish her success in both her professional and personal life! The success of our first postgraduate student from another country is also a merit of many services and departments of PetrSU.
