A Specialized Department of Petrozavodsk University Will Be Created at the Kurchatov Institute
The specialized department of Petrozavodsk University will work at the Kurchatov Institute, said the Rector of the university Anatoly Voronin after signing an agreement on strategic partnership between PetrSU and the National Research Center (NRC).
The President of the NRC "Kurchatov Institute" Mikhail Kovalchuk visited Petrozavodsk. As part of his visit to Karelia, he gave a lecture at PetrSU, where he spoke about the work of the national research center. The meeting was attended by teachers, students and postgraduates of the university.
“Today we discussed that we are creating a specialized department at the Kurchatov Institute and discussed with Mikhail Valentinovich the issue of conducting internships, postgraduate work, building fruitful cooperation with the best scientific center not only in Russia, but also in the world,
he said.
As the Rector of PetrSU told TASS, the specialized department will specialize in microelectronics, but other areas will be added in the future.
Another example of cooperation between the parties was the opening of the first Russian educational and laboratory class of industrial automation of the National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute" at PetrSU, which took place on Thursday. The equipment installed there will help in achieving the country's technological sovereignty.
