A significant international collective monograph "Current Problems of Tourism Development: Experience of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan" was published in Tashkent. This large-scale scientific publication was the result of the fruitful work of a large international team, which included the PetrSU team.

The successful implementation of this project was made possible by the close cooperation of the Department of International Projects and Programs of PetrSU and the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of PetrSU with international partners. The project was coordinated by the Research Institute for Tourism Development under the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Leading universities and research centers of the region joined the work on the fundamental scientific work:

·         Kyrgyz Economic University named after M. Ryskulbekov (Kyrgyzstan);

·         Altai State University (Russia);

·         Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management (Russia);

·         Petrozavodsk State University (Russia);

·         International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship (Tajikistan).

The book is a comprehensive analysis of the current state and key challenges of the tourism industry in the countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan) and in Russia, with a focus on the experience of the Altai Territory, Karelia and Siberia. The publication is intended for scientists, practitioners in the field of tourism, as well as anyone interested in the development of this dynamic industry in these regions.

“The publication of this monograph is a landmark event that clearly demonstrates the power of international scientific cooperation. We are proud that PetrSU, thanks to the coordinated work of our department and colleagues from the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, has contributed to this large-scale project together with leading universities in Central Asia and Russia. This work not only summarizes the unique experience of tourism development in our regions, but also opens up new prospects for joint research and practical cooperation,
