Anastasia Rusakova – Student Leader of 2025

On September 26, the closing ceremony of the 23rd All-Russian Student Leader Competition took place in St. Petersburg.

Twelve finalists—winners of the regional stages of the competition—competed for the title, and a total of 412 students from 70 regions of the country came to the Northern Capital for the final event.

Over the course of six days, participants completed competitive challenges, while support groups cheered on future leaders and learned. An educational program, parallel to the competition, addressed issues related to education legislation, student self-government, and the trade union movement. Invited experts, young trade union leaders, and specialists from the Trade Union staff spoke at lectures, master classes, and roundtable discussions.

Anastasia Rusakova, Deputy Chair of the Primary Trade Union of PetrSU Students, took first place in the competition.

“It was a long journey, lasting almost a year. I prepared for a long time, passed the district stage, and the All-Russian finals lasted a whole week. But everything went well, so I feel proud, relieved, and a little tired.

The most impressive thing is that I finally managed to exercise my sef-control and win the competition. I am incredibly proud that I was able to lead our organization to victory,"

Anastasia shared.

“I dedicate this victory to the 85th anniversary of the Primary Trade Union of PetrSU Students and Petrozavodsk State University. It is very valuable and significant that we achieved such an important victory in this anniversary year.

My plans include continuing to develop the student trade union movement at our university, developing new formats for education and events, and further promoting student rights. I'll also be training trade union activists across the country. We've already received several offers for trips, so next year will be busy," said Anastasia Rusakova.
