PetrSU Entered the Times Higher Education 2026 World University Rankings for the First Time

The results of the annual Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026 have been published. THE 2026 included 2,191 leading universities (2,092 last year) from 115 countries. Russia was represented by 80 universities (81 in the previous edition). Petrozavodsk State University entered THE for the first time and ranks 1,501st overall, or 23rd–80th among Russian universities.
Times Higher Education is an distinguished and popular global ranking of higher education institutions that evaluates universities based on 17 indicators grouped into five areas of activity:
Teaching (five indicators), with an overall indicator weight of 29.5%;
Research Environment (three indicators), with an overall indicator weight of 29.0%;
Research Quality (four indicators), with an overall indicator weight of 30%;
International Outlook (three indicators), total indicator weighting of 7.5%;
Industry (two indicators), total indicator weighting of 4%.
