Scientists Discussed the Outcomes of the International Project
At the international conference "Forests of Eurasia - Karelian forests", scientists of the Institute of Forestry, Mining and Construction Sciences presented the outcomes of the implementation of the international project within the Karelia CBC Program "Boosting Forest Cluster SME Business in two Karelias".
On March 23, a section meeting "Transfer of Forest Technologies" was held in the framework of the major 20th international conference "Forests of Eurasia - Karelian Forests" at PetrSU, which featured the outcomes of the implementation of the international project of the Karelia CBC Program "Boosting Forest Cluster SME Business in two Karelias".
The conference featured 11 reports on the main areas of the project as well as related issues. Thus, the prospects for international cooperation of small and medium-sized businesses in charge of forest and logging services, possible forest inventory interpretation and monitoring of the forest fund changes based on materials delivered from unmanned aerial vehicles, the prospects for using intelligent control and measurement systems for the harvester effective operation, new requirements for forest management certification and other issues have been discussed.
Scientists from Karelia, the Republic of Bashkortostan and Finland joined the section meeting. The outcomes have found positive assessment and the ways of further cooperation have been outlined.
