Without Right to the Throne: From Karelia to Germany
From October 15th to 19th, the largest and most significant annual European book fair was held in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The 77th Frankfurt Book Fair featured books by over a thousand authors and exhibits from 92 countries.
Eksmo, the largest Russian publishing house, and the Russian Federation were represented at the European fair with the book Without Right to the Throne, translated into English especially for the gala event. The author is Irina Belova, a resident of Karelia and a Master's student of the Institute of Philology of PetrSU.
This nonfiction book is a historical study dedicated to the decline of five great dynasties: the Rurikids, the Medici, the Valois, the Tudors, and the Stuarts. Eksmo Publishing House deemed Irina Belova's book competitive for international publication.
The author hopes that her experience will inspire other students and Master's students at the institute: it perfectly fits the profile of the Master's program "Philology: Science and Creativity." Speaking about the book, Irina Belova admits:
“For me, the conceptual issues it addresses are the same as those I explore in my dissertation, only from a different perspective.
