PetrSU Specialists at a Conference in Athens
The employee of the Regional Center for New Information Technologies of PetrSU Anatoly Zabrovsky presented his research at an international conference in Greece (Athens).
At the IEEE International Conference in Image Processing (ICIP) hosted by Athens on October 7-10, Anatoly Zabrovsky presented his work under the title A Practical Evaluation of Video Codecs for Large-Scale HTTP Adaptive Streaming Services at the section Video Coding at Scale.
This conference is of the largest in the area of image processing. This year it convened over 1000 people. The conference actively involves specialists working on the development of the international IT-standards.
The research of Anatoly Zabrovsky was done jointly with the employees of the Bitmovin Company that develops technologies and services for Internet streaming. The study was related to the use of modern video codecs in adaptive video streaming.
Currently, Anatoly Zabrovsky is at the University of Austria where he works on the project Next Generation Video Streaming – Prometheus that studies and improves the quality of video streaming in IP-network, including through virtual reality devices.
