In the framework of the Germany Days, Petrozavodsk hosted a panel discussion “Tubingen Phenomenon” organized by the Institute of Foreign Languages of PetrSU, West-East Society of the city of Tubingen and the National Library of Karelia.
The meeting was dedicated to the 30-year anniversary of the cooperation between Petrozavodsk and Tubingen.
Among the participants of the discussion were the guests from Tubingen Erika and Ernst-Moritz Braungardt-Friedrichs, Peter Kneller, who pioneered the twin-city relations between our cities, Lilia Kunstle, the Chairperson of the West-East Society of the city of Tubingen, teachers and students of the Institute of Foreign Languages, Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences of Petrozavodsk State University and many Petrozavodsk friends of the city of Tubingen.
Citizens of Petrozavodsk and Tubingen shared the memories and recalled the history of the friendship.
Student Anna-Maria Puolokainen presented in the German language her academic report of studying the image of the city of Tubingen through the prism of the linguistic corpus, while students Andrey Solnyshkov and Evgeny Maksimov recited poems by German poet, native of Tubingen, Ludwig Uhland.
The participants of the meeting heartily conversed with the German guests, asked questions. The reports and discussion were in the German language.
