The Linguistic Center of PetrSU Finalized Summer Programs

This summer the Russian Language Courses of PetrSU welcomed students from different countries: Japan, Norway, China, Turkey, Finland, the United Kingdom, the USA, and Spain.

The attendants of the Summer University 2019 could choose between intensive language programs designed for different levels of proficiency and various objectives.

Together with the teachers, the students gained knowledge and had plenty of opportunities to put it in practice in Petrozavodsk and during their travels around Russia.

At the end of the course, the students prepared short presentations on the topic “Discovering Karelia Together”. They visited Karelian villages, learned about the lifestyle of indigenous Karelian people, stopped by ancient houses decorated with carved ornaments and saw the traditional Karelian furnishings. The students took a keen interest in the history of Karelia, its people, and ancestral traditions, as well as in modern events and celebrations. In their amazing presentations they shared with the teachers and employees of the Linguistic Center of PetrSU their impressions, adventures, and anecdotes.

Some students have come to the Linguistic Center before, for others, this visit was the introduction to Russia and Karelia. The students said many kind words about the university, our city, and Russia.
