Chinese Kitchen

Everyone knows about Russian hospitality, but Chinese is every bit as hearty! The teacher of Russian as a foreign language experienced it first-hand while visiting the Chinese students who study at the Linguistic Center of PetrSU.

Ekaterina Terekhova asked them if there was a place in Petrozavodsk where she could try Chinese food, meaning some restaurants. The students did not hesitate with an answer:

Of course in our dormitory on Belorusskaya Street. Come and we will treat you with traditional Chinese dishes!

This is not an offer one turns down.

Everyone took part in cooking, but without a doubt, the chef was Han, who was incessantly frying, steaming, stirring, seasoning, etc. Shortly the table groaned with diverse food, yet the students kept on bringing more dishes from the kitchen. Finally everyone sat at the table. It was a pleasure to dine in such an amazing company!

Now Ekaterina Terekhova can positively say that she enjoys Chinese cuisine!

Yes, it is quite unusual, and for a Russian perhaps a bit too spicy, but it was unforgettable! I asked for recipes of the dishes I liked most and wholeheartedly thanked my hosts for hospitability and delicious dinner!
