PetrSU at the Meeting of German-Russian Library Dialogue

Berlin hosted the meeting of the German-Russian Library Dialogue, a non-governmental professional platform established to unite efforts of specialists of the two countries in the search, identification, restoration, digitalization, preservation, and introduction to global cultural and scientific context information about book collections displaced during World War II.

Berlin hosted the meeting of the German-Russian Library Dialogue, a non-governmental professional platform established to unite efforts of specialists of the two countries in the search, identification, restoration, digitalization, preservation, and introduction to global cultural and scientific context information about book collections displaced during World War II.

 

The dialogue was established in 2009 under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (Germany), with the participants of the Federal Cultural Foundation (Germany). The initiators are M.I. Rudomino Russian State Library for Foreign Literature in Moscow and the Berlin State Library.

This year the Dialogue featured a representative of the Scientific Library of PetrSU, Head of the Rare Book Section Svetlana Novozhilova who presented her report “Displaced German books in the Scientific Library of Petrozavodsk State University”.

The next meeting of the German-Russian Library Dialogue will take place in Petrozavodsk within the Russian Library Congress in May 2020.
