PetrSU Students Discussed International Youth Cooperation
The 4th year student of the Institute of Foreign Languages studying on the program “French Language and English Language” Anna Zhestkova took part in the roundtable discussion “International Youth Cooperation” held within the Republic’s Forum of Young Politicians.
The Forum for Young Politicians is held annually and provides young people of the Republic with an opportunity to present their initiatives to authorities, entrepreneurs, media and public, as well as a platform for experience exchange in the development of youth parliamentarism and self-government.
The 7th Forum held on November 28-29 in Petrozavodsk convened over 80 people: young activists from Petrozavodsk and the Districts of the Republic of Karelia, delegates from Azerbaijan and Bulgaria. The experts were the representatives of the executive authorities of the Republic of Karelia and deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Karelia.
The participants of the roundtable discussion organized by the Interuniversity Center for International Communication and Patriotic Education discussed the international exchange, cross-border youth cooperation, the involvement of young people in non-governmental organizations.
Anna Zhestkova shared the practice of organizing the International Language and Culture Camp that has for 30 years been uniting students of the Lycee Jean Dautet (La Rochelle) and students of the Institute of Foreign Languages who study the French language. This project is the longest and most successful event implemented under the Agreement on Twin-City Relations between the two cities. Over the years the project carried out over 17 camps in each country that involved more than 700 people.
