The SPRINT project is implemented by the Department of the German and French Languages of the Institute of Foreign Languages of PetrSU in cooperation with Deutsche Auslandsgesellschaft, Lubeck, Germany. The project involves a two-week stay in Germany for students who study the German language. This year the SPRINT project featured 11 people, including four 4th year students of the Institute of Foreign Languages of PetrSU Yulia Mikhailova, Tatiana Lazareva, Sofia Shabanova, and Alla Galstyan.

The project includes intensive German language courses, introduction to the culture and the system of education of Germany. Moreover, the students have diligently studied the German language and practiced their speaking skills, learned various methods of teaching German and interesting tasks that can be used in teaching practice.  The students visited classes in Lubeck Gymnasium and got acquainted with the German system of education.

The students admit that this project has given them a chance to discover a new identity and receive a boost to further studying the German language. They have assessed their skills and their proficiency in the foreign language. With each passing day, they have felt more confident in understanding the foreign language and speech and communicating with native speakers.

The immersion in the language environment facilitates easy and quick mastering of the language. The course was indeed intensive, yet engaging and effective. Alongside lectures, seminars, language courses and visit to educational institutions, the project included an eventful cultural program, which featured a tour around the city of Lubeck, known as the city of three Nobel Prize winners: Thomas Mann, Willy Brandt, and Gunter Grass, as well as visits to a cinema, theater, and fine arts museum. On the weekends the students have visited Hamburg where they indulged in the beauty and diversity of a port city and went on a trip to Luneburg to see the famous salt museum.

All participants received certificates, unforgettable impressions, and invaluable experience.
