PetrSU Students in Spain
Students of the Institute of Foreign Languages Elizaveta Lipovetskaya and Vladislav Yankauskas are currently studying on exchange in Spain.
In light of the current situation we got in touch with our students and here is what they related to us.
“We started studying on the exchange program at Universitat Rovira i Virgili in the Spanish city of Tarragona at the beginning of February. The first month was eventful as we chose new courses, had English language teaching practice at school, met with students from around the world, visited various events and traveled across the vicinity of Tarragona. Then at the beginning of March, it turned out that we will study online and still later the whole of Spain enforced quarantine. We can leave home only to buy groceries or go to a pharmacy.
Studying is quite intensive. The switch to online mode made it clear that it is not a chance to slack, on the contrary, we have to study more as the workload has considerably increased. There are both upsides and downsides to this form of studying. Overall, it was not that difficult to adapt to that, as well as to quarantine.
It is still unclear when the quarantine will be over. Of course, we hope it will be over as soon as possible. As of now, we do not leave home at all; one-two times a week at most, security at grocery stores monitors the social distancing. At the entrance you must use sanitizer, take gloves and everyone is wearing masks.”
Teachers of the Department and fellow students wish Elizaveta and Vladislav fortitude, patience and health!
