Webinar on Creative Industries and Tourism
The Karelian Regional Center for Continuing Professional Education of PetrSU in cooperation with the Department of Tourism of the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism held a webinar “Development and Promotion of Creative and Tourism Products on the Foreign Markets”.
The webinar focused on the topical issues of developing and promoting new interdisciplinary services in tourism, technologies for online export and sale of services on the foreign markets.
The webinar convened over 40 professionals working in the areas of tourism, hospitality, hotel, excursion, cultural and recreational business, specialists in creative industries, as well as students of the universities and colleges who study the abovementioned areas. The event was held within several projects: KA3004 CULTA, KA8016 TourSME, KA4007 KALITKA, and KA8022 KARWELL, supported by the Karelia Cross-Border Cooperation Program. The webinar aimed at the development of modern skills of efficient implementation and promotion of services for tourists visiting the Republic of Karelia.
At the webinar, Aleksandr Konovalov, expert of the KA3004 CULTA project, made a presentation on export e-trade, described models and modes of e-trade, as well as presented the principal means of support offered by the government to the export e-trade in Russia.
Nikolai Kolesnikov (Institute of Economics of the Karelian Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences), manager of the KA8016 TourSME project, shared his opinion on developing an appealing product for tourists, promoting it in Russia and on the foreign markets, as well as offered advice on searching partners for sales in Finland. Anastasiya Vasilieva (Institute of Economics of the Karelian Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences), manager of the KA4007 KALITKA project talked about the developed cross-border gastronomy tourist itinerary that will follow the route through the Republic of Karelia and North Karelia region in Finland, gastronomy map and other opportunities for entrepreneurs to develop and promote products in the area of gastronomy tourism.
Natalia Kolesnikova (PetrSU), the expert of the KA8022 KARWELL project, outlined the prospects for the development of wellness tourism in the Republic of Karelia.
