Youth Tourism in Karelia
The 1st year students of the Department of Tourism took part in a project session dedicated to the development of tourism products for youth.
In the framework of practical training, the students have developed five tours for young people.
Tour “Surviving in Karelia” is targeted for a group of 18 people, 18 to 30 years old). The tour lasts 6 days and 5 nights, the first leg of the tour takes place in Suoyarvsky region (Loimola village), the second – in Prionezhsky region. This tour teaches essential survival skills in the wilderness.
“Youth tourism should consider the possibilities of the target group and include various aspects: history, national culture, and food. Young travelers look for outdoor activities and adventures, which means that tours have to be special,” believe the authors of the project.

Tour “Beautiful Karelia” unites different types of tourism: educational, cultural and historical, recreational, active, gastronomic, industrial, and includes tours around Prionezhsky, Kondopozhsky, Priazhinsky, and Medvezhyegorsky regions.
