A New Service for PetrSU International Students
PetrSU Registration and Visa Department has launched the new Visa Calculator service. It allows international students to find out the information they need for a study visa application via smartphone, computer or tablet.
The changes to the migration legislation of the Russian Federation should be carefully considered and applied in practice. While it does not pose a problem for the employees working with international students, it is challenging for international students themselves. Language and cultural characteristics as well as a need to track simultaneously several dates, for example, delivery date for the next study visa and the foreign passport‘s expiry date, may cause difficulties.
«Our main goal is to help PetrSU international students comply with migration requirements. As for now, there is no need for students themselves to calculate when they should bring documents to apply for a visa or change passport. A student enters only two dates on the website (visa and passport’s expiry dates), and then the calculator answers these questions. Moreover, the website is running in five languages: Russian, English, Chinese, Turkmen, and Arabic. It minimizes the risk of misunderstanding», said the Head of PetrSU Registration and Visa Department Ilya Popov.
