International Сooperation of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology

The teachers of the Department of Theory and Methods of Primary Education of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology and their colleagues of the Department of Primary Education and Linguodidactics of the Faculty of Primary and Music Education of Mogilev State Arkadii Kuleshov University (Republic of Belarus) held an online meeting.

Svetlana Smirnova, the Head of the Department of Theory and Methods of Primary Education of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, and Svetlana Chumakova, the Head of the Department of Primary Education and Linguodidactics of Mogilev State Arkadii Kuleshov University, have briefly presented the history of their departments, the educational programs, the main educational and scientific activities, and also introduced the teachers of the departments.

Irina Komarova, Candidate of Pedagogic Sciences, Associate Professor, described in her presentation the technology and effects of the republican festival of research and creative works of younger schoolchildren «My First Discoveries». The idea of the festival had been originated by the Department of Theory and Methods of Primary Education.

Elena Kazko, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Methods of Primary Education, talked about the goals and plans for the rural school teaching laboratory.

Teachers of Mogilev University commented on the participation of students and graduates of the department in various competitions, teachers’ work on training manuals, scientific and methodological seminars and conferences, reviewing educational publications.

Elena Sviridenko, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor, noted the difficulties of the Russian language and literary reading teaching methods due to the lack of a common manual. Thus, teachers of the department are developing a series of workbooks for the methodological support of this discipline.

At the end of the meeting, Svetlana Chumakova, Associate Professor, noted:

«I hope that today's meeting will be the beginning of insightful cooperation of our departments in various fields».

Svetlana Smirnova invited Belarusian colleagues and students to participate in the forthcoming scientific meeting of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology devoted to the republican scientific conference «Primary School Teachers Training: Problems and Prospects». It will be held on November 6, 2020.
