Conversation About the Arctic

PetrSU participated in a round table devoted to the training of new staff for the Arctic needs and the scientific and educational center «Russian Arctic: new materials, technologies and research methods».

Ivan Efimov, Deputy General Director for Arctic Affairs, Agency for the Development of Human Capital in the Far East and in the Arctic, said that at present the agency alongside the scientists from Northern (Arctic) Federal University and Petrozavodsk State University are assessing staffing requirements in the Arctic zone of Russia.

“Such the assessment has not been carried out over the past 10-15 years, so we aim at a detailed analysis of all Arctic regions to pursue a recruitment process. But we have already recognized a high interest of the youth of our country to work in the Arctic,” noted Ivan Efimov.
