PetrSU Resource Center Has Trained New International Level Examiners
Nadezhda Barymova, the Head of the French Language Resource Center, conducted distance learning courses for future DELF examiners.
In 2013, a session of the international exam DELF on knowledge of French was held for the first time in Petrozavodsk. It confirms the level of language according to the European scale (A1-C2). Every year in May, the Resource Center invites everyone who is studying French to test themselves in listening, reading, writing, and speaking, and, if successful in the examination, you will receive a diploma from the Ministry of Education of France that you have a certain level command of French.
The first DELF examiners had to go to the French Institute (St. Petersburg) to confirm their qualifications. However, in July 2019, Nadezhda Barymova, the Head of the Resource Center, completed an internship at the French Institute in Moscow and has got the opportunity to train and confirm the categories of DELF examiners directly in Petrozavodsk.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the management of the France Education International Centre (Sèvres, France), the main worldwide DELF exam organizer, decided to conduct training sessions remotely. Thanks to this opportunity, 4 new certified examiners will soon appear in Petrozavodsk: Ekaterina Khankevich, a lecturer at the Department of German and French Languages of the Institute of Foreign Languages at PetrSU, Tatiana Tatarina, Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages of Humanities of the Institute of Foreign Languages at PetrSU, Elena Kuritsyna, French language teacher, secondary school № 3 in Petrozavodsk, and Olga Shukalovich, French language teacher, secondary school № 27, Petrozavodsk. This internship included both individual work and joint discussion in small and large groups of participants. All beginner examiners were satisfied and gained extensive experience in grading written and oral responses.
Now, all that remains is to wait for the certificates, which are signed directly at the France Education International Centre.
