Professor of the Institute of Foreign Languages Participated in the International Online Conference
Elena Borzova, Professor at the Department of the English Language, participated in the international online conference on «Applied Linguistics: Research, Teaching and Creativity».
The conference was organized by Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after Mikhail Lomonosov.
Specialists from various universities of the Russian Federation as well as Great Britain and Ireland participated in the conference.
Elena Borzova presented a report devoted to «Enhancing Student Engagement in Virtual Classroom Foreign Language Speaking».
Elena Borzova noted:
“The conference was very insightful. The reports prepared by specialists in corpus linguistics and its relations with foreign language education, in the organization of practical and theoretic disciplines for future teachers and linguists have attracted the interest of the audience and caused extensive discussion. Even though the conference was held online, I had the opportunity not only to broaden my knowledge and communicate with colleagues but also to acquire some references for my classes. I would like to recommend drawing attention to free references provided by Lancaster University, which can be used both in teaching practical and theoretical language disciplines. The conference undoubtedly differs from offline attendance and communication. I was pleased to participate in the conference after isolation from such meetings for half a year. I am sincerely grateful to colleagues from Northern (Arctic) Federal University for the invitation.”
