16th International Forum «Zadonsk St. Tikhon Educational Readings "Do the Russians Want War?"»
The 16th International Forum «Zadonsk St. Tikhon's Readings» was held at Lipetsk State Pedagogical University named after Petr Semenov-Tyan-Shansky from 18 to 19 November.
The meeting took place with the assistance from Lipetsk Diocese, Lipetsk State Technical University, Plovdiv University «PaisiiHilendarski», St. Luke’s Heritage Center of the Holy Feodorovsk Monastery in Pereslavl-Zalessky, Pereslavsk Holy Feodorovsk Historical and Cultural Forum, Lipetsk regional branch of public organization «Support of Russia».
Сhildren ensemble «Zhemchuzhinka» welcomed the participantswithCossack and Russian songs. Students from Bulgaria sang a song in their native language online.
Such the meetings are aimed at merging the educational institutions and public organizations, the efforts of the Church and government bodies in spiritual and moral upbringing of children and young people, the revival and strengthening of Orthodox traditions, understanding the significance of the spiritual and moral principle in education, science and culture.
Thus,among other reports at the plenary session, I would like to stress theElena Lelon’s report, teacher of the Sabbath school of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple (Paris, France), devoted to «The Temple of the Three Saints and St.Tikhon of Zadonsk in Paris and his role in the Orthodox tradition and culture preservation».
One of the descendants of merchants and benefactors Dmitry Abrikosov, entrepreneur, teacher, publicist, social activist, author of the educational program «When History Teaches»jointly with the Museum of Entrepreneurs, Philanthropists and Benefactors, has prepared a report and presentation based on family archives, documents and relics. Family traditions of the Abrikosov merchant dynasty: «With a bright hope for the best, with firm faith in the Divine Providence and - with a vivid love for people».

Researchers from Lipetsk, Ryazan, Pereslavl-Zalesky, Tula, Moscow, Voronezh, Volgograd, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Ivanovo, Kaluga, Kostroma, Vladivostok, Krasnodar, Lugansk, Yelets, Belgorod, Kursk, Smolensk, Kerch, Donetsk, Rostov and Petrozavodsk both attended in-person and joined the Readings online.
Anna Mikhailovna Pekina, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies of the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences, Petrozavodsk State University, has reported on «The Image of Alexander Nevsky in Culture» at the section «Orthodoxy in the Russian History and Culture».
