Petrozavodsk State University Opened Its Doors to Representatives of Industry Sectors from Russia and Karelia
As part of the "Engineer.PRO" Career Day series, representatives of Karelian industry companies and PetrSU's federal partners met with students of the Institute of Forestry, Mining, and Construction Sciences.
Over 40 partners and 400 students of the Institute participated in the Career Days.
Second- to fourth-year students majoring in Construction were the first to meet employers in person and choose a placement for internships or future employment.
The main guests of the first day were PetrSU's federal partners: LLC SCC Gazregion, JSC VAD, and JSC SDSI VNIPIET.
“Career Day has already become a tradition for our Institute. On this day, representatives from various industries and departments gather together in one place, allowing our students to meet employers in person and build their future here and now!
The second day of "Engineer.PRO" traditionally welcomed employers from the forestry, mechanical engineering, and even mining industries. Here, students had the opportunity to personally ask questions to representatives of CEMENTUM, the Volkhov branch of Apatit JSC (Fosagro), and a team of specialists from Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill (PetrSU's federal partner, the Sistema Charitable Foundation). The meeting concluded with an interactive session from the Petrozavodskmash Machine-Building Plant, a fascinating "Atomic Quiz," which allowed students not only to test their knowledge but also to better understand the specifics of working in the industry – said V.A. Shain, Deputy Director of the Institute of Forestry, Mining, and Construction Sciences.
The Institute of Forestry, Mining, and Construction Sciences expresses its gratitude to all partners, as well as the PetrSU Career Center and I.V. Kononova personally, for organizing and hosting the "Engineer.PRO" Career Days.
