EU Information Center of PetrSU at the EUi CAnnual Meetings in Delegation of the European Union

EU Information Center PetrSU joined the EUi Cannual meetings, organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Russia. 

The EU Ambassador to Russia Mr. Markus Ederer, in his opening speech, congratulated Petrozavodsk State University on the recent anniversary and expressed his hope for continued fruitful cooperation between EU Delegation and PetrSU. 

The two-day onlineprogram featured the reports prepared by the representatives of the universities where the centers operate, which were devoted to their working activities in terms of pandemics and the forcedshift to a remote work. 

During the open discussion, representatives of the centers discussed the challenges faced by the network at the turn of 2020-2021. The discussion resulted in a number of promising proposals for centers’ joint activities. 

The EU Information Center of PetrSU has made a proposal to organize internal academic mobility for students whose research interests include European studies and IR. Colleagues from the other universities EU centers have put forward ideas about joint competition programs, network expansion, searching for new contacts among foreign educational organizations. 

Traditionally, the final part of the program was devoted to training under the guidance of a European expert: Alice Milstein, Head of the Vitamin C communication agency in Berlin, expert in corporate psychology and business, conducted an interactive class for the representatives of the centers on the developing, creating and maintaining a personal brand.

In 2018-2020, 74 applicants for academic mobility grant programs, who received consultations at the EU Information Center of PetrSU,havegained 607000 euros (54.5 million rubles at the current rate) of total funding and, thus, went to study abroad on a variety of full-cost study programs. According to statistics for this period, 63.8% of students,who applied to the center for assistance and completed their applications, passed all the selectionstagessuccessfullyand wonscholarship.
