PetrSU students and teachers held an online conference with a famous Japanese researcher, an expert in the field of digital linguistics and psycholinguistics Kumon Tokumaru.

The lecture was devoted to grammatical science, and many theoretical issues were considered in an unusual, interdisciplinary way. The speaker presented the comparative study results based on the material from different languages.

Feedback from participants:

Dr. Masahiro Yasue, a Japanese researcher:

“Tokumaru's lecture made a great impression on me. The researcher presented his own concept of the grammatical system and the basic algorithms for its mastering. Such scientific meetings allow teachers and students to expand their knowledge in some specific areas of linguistic science, to look at modern language material through the prism of a dynamic picture of the world and aspects of intercultural communication.”

Maria Ivanova, PetrSU student:

“It was a great pleasure for me to take part in an online meeting with the Japanese researcher Kumon Tokumaru. The lecture was very productive, the author presented fresh interesting facts and some new information that I can use in the future. It helps to enrich and expand the philological horizons and find motivation for further endeavors.”

This scientific event was organized by the Student Scientific Society of the Institute of Foreign Languages, PetrSU (Sabina Nedbailik, Associate Professor of the Department of the German and French Languages).
