Cooperation in Education and Research with Uzbekistan

Strengthening long-term cooperation between the leading universities of Uzbekistan and PetrSU is moving into a new phase.

From 15 to 18 February, in Bukhara and the Tashkent region, Konstantin Tarasov, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, met with Shukhrat Teshaev, the Rector of Bukhara State Medical Institute, Nusratulla Barakaev, the Rector of Bukhara Engineering  Technological Institute, Obidzhon Khamidov, the Rector of Bukhara State University and Gafurjon Mukhamedov, the Rector of Chirchik State Pedagogical Institute.  Issues relating to cooperation in education and research have been discussed. The agreements on cooperation with a number of universities have been reached in the field of double degree programs, academic mobility programs and organization of joint scientific seminars and conferences on Russian as a foreign language and issues of Philosophy in spring 2021. Memorandums of cooperation were signed with Bukhara State Medical Institute and Chirchik State Pedagogical Institute.

In addition, Konstantin Tarasov negotiated with Saodat Tursunbaeva, the Chairman of the board of the International Women's Public Fund SHARQ AYOLI ("Woman of the East"), and Ekaterina Gorbunova, the Adviser on international affairs to the Minister of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The negotiations focused on PetrSU participation in the implementation of distance programs of supplementary vocational education for secondary school teachers and pre-school teachers, as well as the recognition of Russian supplementary education certificates in Uzbekistan.
