Students of PetrSU have Successfully Passed the Competition for a Position of Russian Language Assistant in France
The embassy of France in Russian Federation conducts a competition for participation in the "Russian Language Assistant in France" program for senior students of pedagogical specialties. Students studying French in the Institute of Foreign Languages of PetrSU have successfully passed the elimination round time and again and gained the opportunity to show their teaching abilities.
It is a joint program provided by the French Institute and International Center for Pedagogical Studies (CIEP), which allows Russian students to work in secondary educational institutions as a Russian language assistant.
The mission of the assistants is to open up the Russian language characteristics, civilization and culture for French students. Thus, they contribute to enhance the image of Russia in France and at the same time improve the level of French, acquiring knowledge about French culture.
This program promotes student mobility at the European and international level and allows students to gain additional knowledge in the field of teaching languages, as well as first work experience, which will undoubtedly become important for their future careers.
The assistant’s major purpose is to improve students’ communication skills (specifically oral speech) and broaden their knowledge about Russian civilization and culture.
This year 45 assistants included students of the 5th course (Teacher Education, program French and English Languages) Anastasia Kuzmicheva, who will work in Besançon, and Evgenia Zemskova, in Lion.
Students of the Institute of Foreign Languages of Petrozavodsk State University have participated in this program since 2012.
