Students of PetrSU Represented their Projects to the International Experts
Coming to the Development Corporation of the Republic of Karelia, students of PetrSU joined the online conference "From the Idea of a Social Project to Cross-Border Partnership: Good Deeds Know No Bounds", which convened the participants of the Karelia CBC Project KA8002 Social cross-border entrepreneurship: Start-up for everyone and opportunities for all from Oulu, Kainuu, Kostomuksha and Petrozavodsk.
Pauli Saapunki, Honorary Consul of Russia in Kuusamo, welcomed the participants of the online conference expressing hope for that the project ideas submitted by the participants of the online conference will turn into useful activities to the community on both sides of the border.
Natalya Tenchurina, Deputy Director General of the Development Corporation of the Republic of Karelia, noted in her report that social entrepreneurs are provided with grant support up to 500,000 rubles, and so far 39 applications have been submitted for inclusion in the register of social entrepreneurs.
Galina Potapova from the Administration of the city of Kostomuksha outlined project ideas in their district: the opening of a medical center, a cat cafe, establishing a development center for preschoolers and younger schoolchildren and art and fitness studio, arranging a club for elderly people.
Sergey Koshelev, Head of the Department of Continuing Professional Education of the Karelian Regional Institute of Continuing Professional Education of PetrSU, presented seven youth projects to solve social issues in Russia: the project "Nyanya.com" designed for families with children, the project "School for parents of children with special needs", the project "Dobro.PTZ" on social adaptation of vulnerable segments of the population, the project "Larchik knows" on food production for people with chronic diseases and weakened immunity, the project on furniture eco-restoration and projects on placing animals without shelter in families "Symbiosis" and "Do better today than yesterday." Then PetrSU students Yana Khorenko, Anastasia Pastieva, Grigory Izotov, Natalya Marfitsyna, Elizaveta Chagunava, Elmira Ivanova, Denis Maslennikov introduced their projects in depth. As Sergei Koshelev noted, all the projects featured have cross-border potential.
Natalia Alava from the Finnish NGO Launchpad in Kajaani and project representatives from Oulu talked about project ideas in Finland: production of eco-friendly cosmetics, a "hotel" for car wheels, a portable cleaning company for carpets and furniture eco-cleaning at home, animal beauty center, recruiting agency for companies the field of metalworking and industry, art therapy, non-professional translator services, creation of recreation area for parents with children, development of a shared services center for migrants, the creation of a low-barrier center for young people to promote healthy lifestyle. The participants paid special attention to the project Smile on developing a joint website for entrepreneurs in various business spheres.
All the participants of the online conference wish to continue cross-border cooperation.
