This relevant work resulted from collaboration of 55 authors representing 21 university of 18 countries of the world, including Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Egypt and Brazil. The Department of Foreign Languages for Humanities maintains long-lasting academic ties with the People’s Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) which represented the Russian teacher society in this project.
The monograph under discussion of the participants of the webinar takes a special position among many similar publications. Firstly, it is based on case-study principle, i.e. consists of 23 chapters, each of which acquaints readers with the hands-on experience of the particular university and the solutions used by the lecturers of this university to tackle specific issues and tasks.
Secondly, the monograph is distributed free of charge and the authors themselves assure of the fact that it is essential for them to deliver the output related to their research, pedagogical experiments and observations to the widest possible audience. It is expected to allow teachers of foreign languages around the world to get comprehensive picture of how universities in different countries adjust the foreign language teaching process to the distance learning conditions.
