Wood construction project in Northern Europe and Russia
PetrSU takes part in the international project "Accelerating wood construction across Nordics and Russia".
The leading project partner is Nordregio, an international research center (Stockholm).
The project is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Representatives of Sweden, Finland, the Republic of Karelia, the Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions and St. Petersburg take part in the project.
One of the tasks of this project stage is to study the needs of wooden housing construction enterprises in the field of educational services. The project participants consider an educational module for advanced training for students and professionals involved in the field of wooden housing construction as a result of the cooperation.
The Republic of Karelia is represented by the Swedish-Karelian Information Business Center, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Karelia, PetrSU (The Institute of Forestry, Mining and Construction Sciences) and a number of enterprises operating in the field of wooden construction. The project partners plan to hold a number of meetings in Petrozavodsk with the participation of wooden housing construction enterprises. During the meetings, the participants intend to gradually discuss the content of the future educational module.
