Start of Cooperation

The Center for Lifelong Learning and Distance Technologies hosted the first work meeting of the employees of the Center with Ekaterina Serova, the analyst of the Arctic Center of the Institute of Northern European and Arctic Studies.

The participants of the meeting shared their experience and ideas for prospective areas of cooperation in the development of the northern and arctic regions.

The colleagues formulated a series of proposals for collaboration in various economic sectors with consideration to the development priorities of the Republic and the Development Strategy of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation until 2035, including the areas of environmentally efficient technologies in the Arctic, healthcare and health protection, preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of the indigenous peoples of the North, development of entrepreneurship and attraction of investments, as well as food security.

The participants agreed on the forms of joint work within educational and research projects, development of interdisciplinary distance and online courses, organization of public events involving representatives of the expert community.

During the discussion, the colleagues expressed their interest in broadening the geography of international cooperation and expansion into new educational markets. Implementation of the joint plans involves forming a tighter collaboration between different units and institutes of Petrozavodsk State University.
