Student of the Department of Foreign Languages, PetrSU, Received Educational Grant for Studying in the USA

In 2021, a 3rd year student of the Institute of Foreign Languages of PetrSU Egor Bagrov, studying on the program "Pedagogical Education. German and English languages", became a finalist of the international YEAR program funded by the US Embassy in Russia.

The program included studying at one of the American universities for an academic year. The student had to study subjects related to the culture and history of the United States; one subject should have been linked to his specialty, also the student could have chosen several additional courses of their own interest.

For a whole year I’ve studied at West Liberty University, West Virginia, where I took courses in music, Spanish language, financial literacy, psychology, sociology. So, for the first time in my life, I started learning to play the piano, studying music theory, learning my third foreign language, doing research on discrimination against women in developing countries, and, of course, significantly improving my English.

Plus to that, I traveled a lot: I visited almost all the main tourist cities of the country - from New York to LA. I tried different cuisines, especially the cuisines of Latin American countries - Chilean, Mexican, Peruvian, and Cuban. I met a huge number of people, even befriended with some of them.
